With our drive technology products, we helped four mechanical engineering students at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences design a machine tool axis.
In addition to the usual requirements, they also had to pay attention to the size of the components. The aim was to set up the axis on a mobile test table so that the demonstration could be used for illustration purposes in various lecture rooms.
For the axis, in addition to linear guideways from the CG series and a ballscrew with a DEB flanged single nut, we also supplied a fixed and supported bearing from the EK/EF series. That meant they were able to do the project in only seven months. As it is close by, our managing director Werner Mäurer did not miss the opportunity to personally attend the machine tool lecture at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
